Heroes Of Faith Influence Believers To Be Loyal To God
Heb. 11:1-13
The three men of faith mentioned in verses 4-7 were selected for special mention because of the following: Abel is commended as a true worshipper of God, a righteous man and as the first martyr (verse 4). Enoch walked with God with great intimacy and was caught up into another realm without tasting death (verse 5). Noah believed what God said about the future and risked his reputation for the prophecy of God to come to pass (verse 7). Abraham also demonstrated faith and obedience because he knew that the earthly land of promise was not the end of his pilgrimage on Earth. He also prepared for the Heavenly city which God had made available for His faithful servant. The life of these heroes prompt believers to retain their trust in God and enable us to persevere and remain steadfastly loyal to God and His word at all times.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: The faith demonstrated by the heroes of faith should make us loyal to God in order to obtain what He has promised.
PRAYER POINT: Help me Lord, to be faithful like the Heroes of faith.
