Adore God For His Reputation
Neh. 9:5-12
God’s reputation is known because of His deeds. There are some people who had built reputation for themselves through ages, but for one thing or the other, they have soiled their reputation but none of these people can ever be like God. The Israelites kept a fast probably by the order of Nehemiah. Their outward expression is an act of complete humility and they gave glory to God. The word of God which they read made them to pray wholeheartedly and the prayer made the word more profitable. They spent the whole twelve hours in devotion to God. They rehearsed the loving kindness, mercies and relief in time of distress. They recalled God’s favour to father Abraham (verse 7). The covenant God made with him and his descendants was to inherit the land of Canaan. Though they provoked God yet through His manifold mercies, He continued to lead them and saw them through. All these blessings were bestowed on the Israelites because God had a good reputation for doing good. Just like they separated themselves aside to give their pious and devout affection to God, you must look back to see the goodness of God to you and adore Him because it is through His mercy (good reputation) that you have not been consumed.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: Always adore God for His good reputation.
PRAYER POINT: I praise and adore You Lord for Your acts and goodness towards
