Relying On His Promises
Ps. 37:31; Gen. 15:1-6
In our second text this morning (Gen. 15:1-6), Abram believed God despite his expectation of getting a child that had not come into reality. It is reasonable to say that he kept the law of God in his heart, therefore, His feet did not slide. His action teaches us that we should surrender ourselves and situations to God and trust Him by letting our actions glorify Him. The Lord Has promised His blessings to those who trust in Him. His promises are expressions of His love and care for us. Through them, He accomplishes His will and plan for our lives as well as His purpose for the kingdom of God. His unconditional promises are unchangeable and cannot be thwarted. However, the fulfilment of the conditional ones depends on our response and behaviour based on our faith in Christ. God’s promises should be a vital part of our lives because our entire belief system is dependent on them. They are the bases of how we live each day. We have access to this amazing resource and the answers to our needs are readily available in the word of God. These scriptural promises should be claimed and applied in life situations.
Point Of Emphasis: Always surrender your challenges to God and let your action glorify Him.
Prayer Point: Let Your word guide us into all truth, dear Lord.
