Do Not Judge
Matt. 7:1-5
We are quick to condemn, criticize and judge others while ignoring our own faults. Believers must first submit themselves to God’s righteous standard before attempting to examine and arbitrate the conduct of other people. This is different from reconciling erring Christians. The first principle of judgement is to begin from oneself. The imperfection of man disqualified man from being a final arbiter. The Pharisees were so magisterial, rigid and supercilious in condemning people and showing themselves as the good one. They condemned other people with a spec in their eyes not minding the log in their own eyes. The Bible says remove the log in your eyes so you can see the spec in other peoples’ eyes.
Point Of Emphasis: The first principle of judgement is to begin with oneself
Prayer Point: Oh Lord, have mercy on me and forgive me in all the various ways I have criticized and condemned others of what I am also guilty of.
