Giving and Receiving Assistance Through Relationship
Acts 4:32-37
When we are interconnected either through biological or spiritual relationship, the onus is on every one to be ready to assist one another. In a relationship where some are enjoying while others are suffering and the former do not have concern for the latter, that is not a healthy or desirable relationship. As people of God, we are not only to encourage ourselves and see to the spiritual development of ourselves alone, God is expecting us to see ourselves as members of the same family. Whatever happens to any member should be the concern of all. No one should feel indifferent or unconcerned about the need of fellow brethren. If actually we appreciate how God has forgiven us our loads of sin, we should demonstrate that appreciation by assisting those who are in need among us as a church. This will make the gospel to become a reality to needy brethren and it will attract more people unto the Lord. This was what happened in the early church which made many people to join the group of believers on daily basis.
Point of Emphasis: There was no one among them who lacked (v.34).
Prayer Point: Help me not to be indifferent to the needs of other brethren around me Oh Lord.
