Reasons For Paying Tithe
Deut. 14:22-23
In the Bible passage read this morning, it states the habit of setting aside one-tenth of income and returning it back to God. First, it shows we are not the owner of our income but we are just stewards of it. Second, it is a way of praising God for He generously gives to you; He wants us to celebrate His generosity and wants us to give back to Him generously. Furthermore, it is God’s standard way of paying tithe. In addition, it is a means of supporting God’s work and our spiritual leaders who labour for our spiritual well-being. In addition, it shows that we fear the Lord. Without the fear of the Lord, our worship is purposeless. If you love God truly, be reasonable to fear Him and abide with the standard which He sets out for His children. For you not to have problem with reasons for giving tithe, first of all give yourself unto the Lord (2 Cor. 8:5).
POINT OF EMPHASIS: The reason for giving tithe is convincing enough for godly children to pay their tithes.
PRAYER POINT: I receive grace to reciprocate Your generosity over my life oh Lord, I will henceforth be faithful to the payment of my tithes.
