Giving Starts From God
Jam. 1:12-17
As we read from our passage for today that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above (vs.17), so also is giving a gift of God. Often times when we give, we only think it is from our natural instinct but it is not so. It engenders from God who has given us the grace and the divine enablement to do it. More so, we are told that with the act of our giving, we need to endure temptations because many times as we do our giving, some may even mock and repay us evil for good, but since it is of God and the reward from Him, we have to ignore them and focus on our source which is God. The writer also makes us to know that God cannot bring evil on us, but they come as a result of our lusting and gradual sliding into sin, then death encroaches. We are therefore, admonished not to err. God is willing to give as you are ready to receive. Locate your source which is God.
Point of Emphasis: There is no variance with God, He gives liberally.
Prayer Point: God, give me the grace of giving and every other good and perfect gifts.
