 Jesus Came To Save Men’s Souls

Lk. 9:51-56

When Jesus was about to go back to the Father, He decided to go to Jerusalem. On their way the disciples decided to prepare a place for Him to rest in a village, but the villagers refused and rejected them. When other disciples heard, they were annoyed and they wanted to fight on behalf of their Master. They requested to call down fire on the villagers and destroy them. But Jesus did not assent to their request. He told them that He had not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. This is what we need to tell sinners that when they come to Jesus, He will rebuild, reshape and beautify their lives. He will save them and if they trust in Him, he will not allow the devil and his agent to destroy their lives.

Point of Emphasis:          An encounter with Jesus brings salvation and transformation.

Prayer Point:                                     Help us Lord to understand the manner of spirit (verse 55b) you have given us and use it rightly. Also, save and deliver those whose lives have been destroyed by the devil.
