Persecuted For Preaching The Gospel
Acts 13:42-52
The natural mind would expect that as the Church experiences revival and engages in soul-winning, the Church would grow peacefully. But persecution often comes at the heels of evangelisation. Paul and Barnabas preached in the synagogue in Antioch, while some of the hearers were enthusiastic about the gospel they heard, others were jealous. The Gentiles were glad to hear the word of God; they believed and were saved. The jealous one incited some highly placed citizens to persecute Paul and Barnabas. They were expelled from the region. The disciples did not resent the persecution they suffered but rather were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Point of Emphasis: Persecution often comes along with obeying God by evangelising.
Prayer Point: Grant us the grace to preach the gospel even when under persecution.

PERSECUTES POUR PRECHER L’EVANGILE
ACTES 13:42-52
La conscience naturelle espérerait que comme l’Eglise connait un réveil et qu’elle s’engage dans le gain d’âmes, qu’elle croîtrait de manière pacifique. Mais la persécution arrive souvent aux talons de l’évangélisation. Paul et Barnabas prêchaient dans la synagogue à Antioche. Pendant que des auditeurs étaient enthousiastes de l’évangile qu’ils écoutaient d’autres en étaient jaloux. Les païens étaient contents d’écouter la parole de Dieu, ils crurent et furent sauvés. Ceux qui étaient jaloux incitaient quelques citoyens hauts placés à persécuter Paul et Barnabas. Ils furent ainsi exclus de la région. Les disciples n’avaient pas ressenti la persécution dont ils furent l’objet mais étaient plutôt remplis de joie et du Saint-Esprit.
Point essentiel : La persécution s’accompagne de l’obéissance à Dieu pour évangéliser.
Axe de prière : Père, accorde-nous la grâce de prêcher l’évangile quand bien même sous la persécution.
