God Centres On Relationship

Mk. 12:28-31

The Bible is all about relationship. Jesus states the core value which God proposed to mankind into two expressions – loving God with all our hearts and loving our neighbours as ourselves. Sometimes, you may find it difficult to love some people because of their manners and characters. Since it is expected of us to love others as ourselves, we must make efforts through the power of the Holy Spirit to love the unloveable bearing in mind that when we were not yet reconciled to God, He loved us just as we were. In verse 28 of our text this morning one of the scribes asked ‘which is the first commandment of all?” Christ gave him a direct answer in verses 29-31. If we love our God and others wholeheartedly then interpersonal relationship will be cordial among brethren. Jesus centres on what enhances ultimate relationship in loving God with our hearts and loving others as ourselves.

Point of Emphasis: Let love flow like a mighty ocean.

Prayer Point: Give me grace to love You with all my heart and love others as myself, oh Lord.
