Love One Another
Jn. 13:34-35
Those who don’t believe in our faith are not interested in or impressed by how often we go to church but by how we react with each other and the outside world. What our actions say to others about our faith matters. It is the demonstration of true love among ourselves that shows that we are indeed true disciples of Jesus. Jesus told His disciples to love each other the way He has loved them when He predicted Peter’s denial. He discussed the issue of brotherly love that is very paramount in His mind. To have harmonious interpersonal relationship, Christians are commanded to love one another in a greater and special way. All true Christians must love one another, whether they are of the same denomination or not. This however does not mean that we should compromise our Biblical beliefs or doctrinal differences. Our living faith should make us remain loyal and sincere to Christ. It is the love of other professing Christians, non-compromise of doctrinal stands, beliefs and denial of self to promote the welfare of others that make us the disciples of Christ indeed (verse 35).
Point of Emphasis: Love one another according to the new commandment of Jesus Christ.
Prayer Point: Help me to show my unfeigned love to all those whom I ought to give my love, oh Lord.
