Fear The Lord, Depart From Evil
Prov. 16:6-9
Being righteous means being in right standing before a holy and just God. God is holy and demands holiness from His children. Anyone who wants to be in right standing before God has to fear Him and depart from evil. Many people fear what others think and say about them more than what God thinks about them. They bow to the dictates of the society rather than obey the commandments of God. This puts them on the wrong side as far as God is concerned. In contrast, the righteous strives to please God in all he does and says; he wants to be in the good book of God. One of the fears of the righteous is that of those who hate his way of life. But God ensures that the enemies of the righteous are made to be at peace with Him.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
PRAYER POINT: I receive the grace to live to please God in all I do, say and think.
