God’s Invitation

1 Cor. 1:2; Matt. 11:27-30

A personal invitation makes a person feel wanted and welcome. We are “called to be saints”. God has given everyone a personal invitation to be a citizen of his eternal kingdom. You can only accept this by giving your life to Jesus, who is the only one that can bring us into His glorious kingdom. By including a salutation, “to all whom in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord”, Paul is making it clear that this is not a private letter. Although it deals with specific issues facing the church at Corinth which all believers can learn from. Despite their immoral background, God called them to salvation. God is equally doing the same to you today. Accept God’s invitation by accepting His Son, Jesus Christ, and by trusting in the work He did on the cross to wash away our sins. Coming to Jesus and obeying His command will make you free from seemingly insurmountable burdens. Also, you will become a member of His glorious Church and be sanctified to live a godly life.

Point of Emphasis: God is inviting us to be citizens of His eternal kingdom.

Prayer Point: O Lord, as I answer Your invitation, enlist me in Your glorious Church.
