The Lord Is Near To Those of Broken Heart
Ps. 34:15-22
When a person falls into sin, there are two possible steps the person can take. The person can choose to persist in the sin. Sin then becomes a way of life for the person. The other path opens to the person is a broken heart over the sin committed. The person mourns over the sin and seeks a way of repentance and reconciliation with God. The unrepentant sinner gets cut off from God as long as he persists in his sin. The face of God is against him; and God eventually cuts off his remembrance from the earth. But God draws closer to the penitent to deliver them from the repercussion of sin committed and all forms of affliction. People who persist in sin do so thinking God does not mind what they do because He does not execute judgment promptly. God’s wheel of judgment grinds slowly, but grinds finely.
POINT OF EMPHASIS: God delivers those who are broken hearted because of sin as well from their afflictions.
PRAYER POINT: I reject a heart that accepts and gets used to sin; I receive a spirit sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
