Employees Relating To Employer
1 Pet. 2:18-25
Employees who have given their lives to Jesus Christ need to know how to relate to their employers, especially those who are unbelieving bosses. It is possible that an unbeliever can be a nice employer. It is also possible that he may be a difficult person who has little or no milk of human kindness. Whatever the nature of the employer may be, the Christian employee is expected to serve as if he is serving God. The Christian employee should not see himself as serving the human employer, but serving God. He should not try to please the employer by doing eye service. He should not take advantage of the gentleness of a nice employer either. He should be diligent and pray that God will use him to turn the heart of the employer to God. He should try to have the kind of testimony which Joseph had in the house of Potiphar.
Point of Emphasis: Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.
Prayer Point: Father, give us the clear understanding that our relationship with others should bring honour unto Your name.
