A New Life In Christ
2 Cor. 5:15-17
A composer once sang: “There is a great change since I believe…the things I used to do, I do them no more”. The phrase, “to be in Christ”, evidently means to be united to Christ by faith. Such an individual becomes a new creature; it implies that he is a changed person. He is not who he used to be, the change is so great that we can say he is a new man. He has new views, new motives, new principles, new focus and plans of life. He seeks new purposes and lives for Christ always. Christians are brand-new people. The Holy Spirit gives them new life and they are not the same anymore. They are not indoctrinated, rehabilitated or reeducated – they are recreated.
Point of Emphasis: There is a great change in the life of a person that accepts Jesus.
Prayer Point: Deliver me Lord from my old sinful way of life. Let the life of Jesus be birthed in my spirit.
