Bringing Forth Fruits Of Righteousness

Jn. 15:8; Phil. 1:1-11

Paul communicated a sincere personal encouragement to the Philippians which gave them a specific hope for the future. You must inculcate this noble idea like Paul. The blessed apostle in this chapter made a solemn prayer to God for these Philippians; and, among the rest, he put up two rare petitions for them: First, that they might be sincere (verse 10). Second, that they might be fruitful: “being filled with the fruits of righteousness.” He brings forth fruit in the vine. By nature we are barren, and there is not one good blossom growing on us; but when by faith we are engrafted into Christ, thereafter, we grow and bear fruit. Jn. 15:4: “Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.” Jesus Christ is that blessed Root which shoots up that sap of grace into His branches. A sincere Christian brings forth good fruits as seen in Gal. 5:22; Prov. 15:4. Let Christians be persuaded to bring forth proper and genuine fruit, and shine forth in their relations.

Point Of Emphasis: Encouraging people to communicate in a manner that brings hope, is required.

Prayer Point: Lord, help me to be Your ambassador who communicates hope to people.
