Need For Daily Devotion
Amos 8:4-14
Devotion is the act of spending some quality time with God in prayer, reading the Word of God and meditation. Daily devotion is one of the habits which a Christian must develop if he wants to grow spiritually. Many Christians have contracted out the responsibility of their spiritual growth to professionals – pastors, elders and other spiritual leaders. They then turn around to complain that the Church is not meeting their spiritual needs. They are going through a famine of the word of God. No spiritual leader can inject into a member the full dose of spiritual nourishment the members need. Hopping from one Church to another searching for the perfect Church is not the solution. To grow, you need time to commune with God, listen to what God has to say and receive direction from God. Without this, the ship of your life is dangerously drifting on the ocean of life.
Point of Emphasis: Daily time of devotion is a necessity for every serious Christian.
Prayer Point: In the name of Jesus, I will not experience the famine of God’s word.
