Personality Of The Holy Spirit
Jn. 14:11-17
Without the Holy Spirit, it is impossible for someone to be born-again. So also it is impossible to become spiritually mature without the work of the Holy Spirit in the Christian’s life. Yet, many Christians do not really understand His personality. The Holy Spirit is a person and not a mere presence, nor a force. He is not an attitude, atmosphere or environment. He is not a power to be used, but a person to relate with. He is the same as the Father and the Son. Just as Jesus fully demonstrated all the essence of God the Father while on earth, in the same way the Holy Spirit possess all the eternal attributes of God. He is the Comforter or Helper whom Jesus promised will be sent by the Father to continue the work of salvation through the believers. He possesses knowledge and will (1 Cor. 2:11); He has a mind (Rom. 8: 27) and He speaks (Acts 13:2). One can rebel against Him (Isa. 63: 10), can be blasphemed (Matt. 12: 31-32).
Point of Emphasis: When the Holy Spirit comes, He will guide you into all truth.
Prayer Point: Father, give me a good understanding of Who the Holy Spirit is.
