A People Belonging To God

1 Pet. 2: 9-10

Peter lays emphasis, in his write-up on the need for every child of God to respond to the Divine Calling. There is a general calling and a specific one. The general calling is for everyone while the specific one is given to individuals who are meant for a particular course. Perhaps you belong to this second category. “You are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God…” if this is so then you must respond to God by living differently in the world as foreigners and temporary residents. Live a good life worthy of emulation.

Point of Emphasis:         Once you were not shown mercy, but now you have been shown mercy.

Prayer Point:                  Continue to decorate me with Your mercy and give me the grace to respond with my good conduct.
