Don’t Sow Discord Among Brethrens
Prov. 6:16-19
A Christian that will be acceptable to God, and that will not be abominable, will have to work on himself or herself after conversion. All parts of his body – eye, tongue, mouth, hands, hearts, feet etc. – must be consecrated to the Lord and used for godly things. The Lord highlights six things He hates that we can do with parts of the body in this passage. The seventh one which is regarded as an abomination is the person that sows discord among brethrens (verse 19). These are people who trouble the peace of the family of God either by spreading rumors, talking sides, bearing tales, bearing false witness, or by being bitter against fellow brethrens. You must desist from such vices.
Point of Emphasis: As a loving child of God, hate what God says He hates.
Prayer Point: Lord, help me not to trouble the peace of the church of God and never to sow discord and disaffection among brethren.
