Restored Intimacy With God

1 Jn. 1:1-10

Man had very intimate relationship with God in the Garden of Eden – God and Adam walking around the Garden in the cool of the day in close fellowship. Adam died spiritually the day he ate the forbidden fruit and the intimacy was destroyed. Man began to run from God. Jesus enjoyed close fellowship with the Father while on earth. His atoning death is meant to open the way for man to be restored to have intimate relationship with God. Most believers remain strangers in the household of God, unable to enjoy close fellowship with God or with other believers. Those who strive to mature spiritually begin to enjoy being in the presence of God to fellowship with Him, just like Moses with whom God spoke one-on-one.

Point of Emphasis:        The more mature you are as a Christian, the more intimate you are with God.

Prayer Point:           Holy Spirit, lead me into a closer and deeper intimacy with God.
