Genuine Repentance
Neh. 8:1-9
Ezra read the book of the Law to the Israelites gathered together to observe the feast of Tabernacle. These were the Jews that had returned from exile. They were repentant of their sins as they heard the priest read the Book of the Law. Their repentance made them weep for their sin. Genuine repentance involves not just mental acceptance of one’s guilt but also involves one’s emotion. There are many in our Churches who come out to give their lives to Christ but who are hardly remorseful of the sin in their lives. The regret many so called Christians have is often that their sin is exposed and not because they realise they have done something wrong to God. Revival is accompanied with genuine repentance.
Point of Emphasis: The people wept for their sins when they heard the words of the Law.
Prayer Point: Father, in Your mercy, pour out the spirit of genuine repentance upon our congregation.

LA REPENTANCE SINCERE
NEH. 8 :1-9
