God Equips Those He Calls
Ps. 18:28-39
When God chose David to be a king in Israel, He equipped him with all he needed to carry out the assignment given to him. David never lost a battle against any external aggressor or enemy. The work that God has for us is not one that can be done with human wisdom or power. David was equipped such that he could run against a troop and leap over a wall. God subdued his enemies under him; all those who rose against him were destroyed. A song composer says “the arm of flesh will fail you, you dare not trust your own”. In our own time, God makes His Holy Spirit available for the Christian so that he is equipped to succeed in life and ministry. The coming of the Holy Spirit made the difference in the ministry of the apostles.
Point of Emphasis: If the battle seems too great for you, ask for empowerment through the Holy Spirit.
Prayer Point: Strengthen me with power through your Holy Spirit in my inner man, oh Lord.
