Seek Peace, Pursue It
Ps. 34:12-22
There are several character traits which if given permission to operate, will destroy relationships e.g. speaking evil of other people, speaking deceit, doing what is evil to other people. Indulging in these character traits negatively affects not just the congregation but it surreptitiously destroys the person involved. On a personal note, a man who wants to live long and enjoy good health will refrain from demonstrating these character traits. At the church level, refraining from these character traits promotes harmony and all round growth of the congregation. Harmony does not happen by accident; it takes conscious effort by individual members. We need to seek peace and pursue it, even when some people choose to do the wrong things. We need to choose to forgive rather than take revenge.
Point of Emphasis: Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Prayer Point: Father, grant us the wisdom to avoid doing those things that cause disharmony.
