Christ’s Resurrection Established Christian Faith
Rom. 6:1-8
Every wrongdoing is rooted in a failure to love. Sin itself is an act of wickedness, lawlessness and defiance of the law of God. Paul emphasized in our passage this morning that believers who make up Christ’s glorious church are buried with Christ through baptism. After being born-again, baptism symbolizes burial and resurrection with Christ. A believer’s water baptism stands for total rejection of sin and total commitment to Christ. We are empowered to live in union with Christ who rose from the dead, exercise true saving faith in Him; and resolve to walk in newness of life. Christ’s resurrection established Christian faith. Slave relationship has ended. Since Christ has conquered sin through His death and resurrection, sin doesn’t have power over you as a member of Christ’s glorious church.
Point of Emphasis: As a member of Christ glorious church, sin should not have power over you. Slave relationship has ended.
Prayer Point: I receive grace and dominion over sin, I am established in Christ through His death and resurrection. No more slave relationship.
