Seeking God’s Face On Choice Life Partner

Prov. 19:13-18

A large percentage of young adults want God to bless whoever they have chosen to marry in their fancy. They have their criteria for choosing their future life partner, but quite often the criteria do not include those qualities, which God cherishes – criteria like beauty, education, wealth, family background, etc. It is only God who can choose a prudent wife or husband for someone. Proverbs 18: 22 states that to get a good spouse is a favour from the Lord. Many marriages have been contracted in the church, but have failed woefully. Many so-called children of God have rushed into marriage, only to rush out again. One of the important reasons for marriage failure is that the two people in the union should not have gotten into it in the first place if they have dutifully sought God’s face.

Point of Emphasis: In choosing a marriage partner, do not trust in your own wisdom. Seek direction from God.

Prayer Point: Father, give our single members the wisdom to wait upon you before they choose marriage partners.
