Israelites Oppressed By Egyptians
Exo. 1:8-14
As time went by the Egyptians soon forgot the deliverance from famine which God did through Joseph. It is natural that people soon forget the good things they got from others. The Egyptians then became xenophobic. They became fearful of the Israelites who have become numerous and very successful in the land. The Egyptians would then blame the foreigners for all the evil things happening in their land. Soon Pharaoh bought into the same fear and devised means of putting the growth of the Israelites in check. He subjected them to forced labor, to build cities for him without paying them. The amount of work he put them through was so great that their lives were made bitter. But the more the rigor the Israelites were put, the higher their numerical strength grew.
Point of Emphasis: The enemy’s attack could not diminish God’s grace upon the Israelites.
Prayer Point: In Jesus’ name I will continue to flourish in spite of all attacks from the enemy.
