Introduction
Christianity is essentially the religion of the presence of God and of communion with God. Man is in a desperate search for God. All his inventions have not been able to help him. The reason for all religions in this world is man’s search for God and the supernatural. As For the believer, he has been delivered from the dominion of Satan. What dominates him now are his senses.
The Supernatural Was Man’s Habitat
The supernatural was man’s natural habitat. He dwelt there. He lived there. How did Adam name the animals? How did he know Eve? How did he walk with God? God made a man that was fully man and fully god. One who was capable of relating to the spirit realm as well as the natural world. He could live in both worlds. But now, man has become a slave of his senses. He’s sense and body ruled. He’s amazed at miracles. Whereas that used to be his natural habitat! There is another world that man is totally unaware of. He’s ignorant-of this world. But that is where you ought to live. Because that is the only way you can dominate this natural world. The Church must be taken out of the sense realm and Christians must cease to be Body and sense ruled.
Responding to Gods Presence
The presence of God is something that everything and everyone responds to. If the presence of God is in a place, even the trees and flowers come alive. Is.32:14-15. Now how about when that presence dwells in your body? Christians have never fully emphasized the One who dwells in them. Romans 8:11. The power that will resurrect your body when Christ comes is already in you today. That power is able to sustain your mortal body until the time appointed of the father for it to take on immortality.
The Name Of Jesus
The name of God is equal to his presence. Mt.18:18-20; John 14:14; 16:23-24 Jesus gave us the unqualified use of his name. Mt.10:1; Luke 9:1. What power did Jesus give to his disciples here? It was His Name! The name of Jesus isn’t a mantra or an appellation we use in prayer. It is not something we use to try to stop a congregation that’s praying. It is the raw power of the believer. Acts 3:1-7.
Peter was in possession of the name. He said, “ …what I do have…” Did you notice that Peter did not pray for this man? He didn’t ask God to do something for this man. And God wants you to be in possession of that name. Mk.16:17-18. Use that name in prayer.
Use that name to live in dominion. Col.3:17
How Much Power is Back of That Name?
Mt.28:18-20
Jesus said that all power has been given him. Power is ability; privilege, i.e.force, capacity, competency, freedom, or mastery, token of control), delegated influence: — authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength… So what did Jesus mean when he said that ALL Authority and Power in heaven and earth has been given to him? He meant that all ABILITY, FORCE, CAPACITY, CONTROL, MASTERY, LIBERTY, RIGHT, STRENGTH, GOVERNMENT…has been given to him! If it’s not so then he told a lie. If he told a lie, then his death, burial and resurrection aren’t true. If that’s the case, then the Bible is a fraud and there’s no God.
What He Did.
Now what he did was that he condensed all that power, ability, rule right, government etc into his name. He said, I am with you always. How? In the name. Why are many Christians bankrupt of the presence and power of God? They don’t know how to invoke the name. You must know that He is with you by the name. All the names of God in the Old Testament – Jehovah Shammah, Sabaoth, Jireh, Nissi, Shalom, El Shaddai…have all been condensed into one name, JESUS.
When you come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, he becomes your King. In bible days, the king was the defender and helper of his people. The king was the symbol of deliverance, provision, help, security, support, justice and fairness. 2 Kings 6:26.
We are in this world but we belong to another Kingdom. Col.1:13. In this Kingdom, we have a king. His name is Jesus! This King is responsible for your provision, protection, progress, success, Victory etc. Psalms 44:4 (KJV) Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances ( victories) for Jacob.
